The Dickies

Described by AllMusic as the "clown princes of punk rock", The Dickies stood in stark contrast to their more serious peers in California's punk scene: juvenile, kitschy, and party-conscious, although they were rarely offensive. The band never attained widespread popularity in the states, but were warmly received in the UK during the late 1970s punk boom, with their cover of the Banana Splits theme song even denting the UK's Top Five.

Really fun stuff, of course. I actually had to relisten to the first few tracks because I just tacked this on the the end of my current playlist and while doing other things - it was basically completely seamless with most things I listen to. Fun fun.

this was indeed a really fun band, as shiningideal said.

i had a handful of tracks from old mixes i had received from a friend, as well as a few downloaded singles, and based on these songs i really need to look into picking up some more.

"banana splits" and "toxic avenger" were my two favorites, though "killer klowns" is a definite classic!

I confused this band with the Dicks for the longest time. :)
