Stevie Wonder was born on May 13, 1950. He started playing piano at the age of 7 and by the time he was 10 had mastered the harmonica and drums as well. Wonder signed with Motown Records at the age of 12 and learned how to play bass during his early years there. He has recorded more than 30 top ten hits, won 26 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award for Best Song and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. He has been permanently blind since childhood and still continues to record and perform for the Motown label.
