Metal is really the one genre (admittedly pretty wide) that I've never really been able to have much appreciation for. I try again and again to find bands I can identify with or enjoy and its just a long string of misses. I'd love to leave some more intelligent commentary but I'm just not qualified for it.
The song by Epheles caught my attention a little, just out of an appreciation of the production and tonal qualities. As a guitarist I can appreciate the technical aspects of Averse Sefira's song. The first thirty seconds of Shroud of Despondency was probably my most enjoyed portion of all of this - but whenever the screaming started it just ran downhill for me.
